Etiquette Lunch
Having academic knowledge and skills may be impressive, but having social skills is also important to be successful.
Table manners play an important part in making favorable impressions. They are non-verbal signals of the state of our manners and therefore are essential to professional success.
What should you do with your napkin? What is an acceptable drink to order? Does your bread rest on the left or the right? Whose water glass is it anyway?
All these questions and more will be addressed during the NGA etiquette lunch with guest speaker Maria Richart from RIT Career Services. Enjoy a delicious lunch and hands-on experience as you learn soft skills integral for success in the business world.

A New Site for a New Year
The RIT Next Generation of Accountants club is excited to launch a brand new web site for 2010. Throughout the winter quarter and well into the new year, look for exciting updates and feature-rich content. As part of the ongoing effort to keep interested students informed, RIT NGA has launched three NGA-branded and interconnected social networking sites on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
The official NGA web site provides the most comprehensive information on upcoming events, information, and industry trends. And, the three social networking sites are intended to serve as convenient, supplemental sources of information for time-strapped students.
Recognizing the overwhelming popularity of Twitter and the prevalence of hand-held mobile computing devices with students, the newly launched NGA web site features a live Twitter feed to keep students up-to-date both on the web and their mobile device. The Facebook arm of NGA allows students to quickly and easily recommend NGA to their existing friends and peers while receiving status updates whenever they are on Facebook. Finally, NGA recognized the need for a professional connection to students actively seeking co-ops or networking opportunities and has created a LinkedIn page for students to connect with via their personal LinkedIn profiles.
Whether casual or professional, NGA seeks to provide the most exhaustive source of Accounting information for all current and prospective RIT students across the University’s colleges. For your convenience, links to the three NGA social networking sites are provided below.
